Long Island Pest Control Industry Event
Suburban Exterminating was proud to host a day of training for many pest control professionals. Attendees included the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, Nassau County Health Department, Suffolk County Health Department and of course, technicians from Suburban Exterminating.
Some New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) employees also attended from their offices in Stony Brook. The DEC tries “To conserve, improve and protect New York’s natural resources and environment and to prevent, abate and control water, land and air pollution, in order to enhance the health, safety and welfare of the people of the state and their overall economic and social well-being.”
Some employees of both Suffolk and Nassau County Department of Health attended. This group promotes and protects the health of residents. Some of their jobs include prevention of environmental health hazards and the investigation and control of communicable diseases.
Understanding and Appreciating Insects
Dr. Frishman has received many pest control industry awards including Pest Control Technology’s Professional of the Year and Pest Control Magazine’s Hall of Fame honoree. Frishman has a masters degree in entomology and his master’s degree from Cornell University and later received his doctorate degree from Purdue University. He has been making significant contributions to the pest management industry for more than many years as a Board Certified Entomologist (BCE). He presented the morning class on understanding and appreciating insects.
Updates and Advances in Rodent Control
Renowned Rodent Expert, Dr. Robert Corrigan. Bobby Corrigan has a doctorate in rodent control from Purdue University. He is a leader in “green” pest management and gives advice to many Health Departments including NYC.
