How Carpenter Bees Got their Name

Carpenter Bees make holes in unpainted wood.  The entry hole is 3/8 to 1/2 inch in diameter and initially about 6-inches long. After many years, these holes can extend many feet.  These holes provide a place for the carpenter bees to nest and raise their young. Often, your home’s eaves provide the perfect spot for their nest.  Once they have made a home, the bees will return to the same spot each year. These bees look like large bumble bees. They rarely sting but will hover over people and “buzz” by.

Call Suburban Exterminating to get rid of Carpenter Bees  (516) or (631) 864-6900.
