Furniture Carpet Beetle Exterminator

Furniture Carpet Beetles are found worldwide. They ruin linens, cotton, jute, softwood, and leather because they feed on the wool. They have thick tufts of hair on either side of their body and on the rear. They are oval shaped.

Size: 1/16 to 1/8 of an inch long
Color: White with spots of yellow, white, and black scales

Activity/Behavior: They feed on the hair padding, feathers, or wool upholstery of furniture, as well as fur, bristles, horn, tortoise shells, silk, other insects, dried blood and other human foods.

Where They Live: Outdoors, they can be found on plant materials, specifically pollen. Inside, the beetles are found on furniture such as linen, cotton, wool, or leather.

Tips for Control: Vacuuming and dusting is probably the most important way to prevent carpet beetles because they are attracted to dust and linen build up.
