Field Cricket

Size: 1/2 to 1 1/8 inches long
Color: Usually black but can be brown/straw colored
Activity/Behavior: Field crickets can be important agricultural pests. They can also damage furniture, rugs, and clothing if moved inside.
Where They Live: They can’t survive long indoors. Crickets can be found hiding in dark, warm places during the day, so check in those basements and other sealed off places. They are also attracted to light.
Tips for Control: Try sealing all openings to crawl spaces, basements, and garages. Also keep your grass short and trim your weeds to keep those crickets away.
How Suburban Exterminating Can Help: Control of field crickets takes persistence and experience. The most effective way to get rid of crickets is to treat both the inside and outside of a structure. An infestation sometimes can be controlled using over-the-counter products, but crickets have many hiding places. A trained pest control professional can help you get rid of your crickets.
Suburban Exterminating follows a strict set of guidelines to ensure your health and safety. We use only products which are registered with the EPA. Our technicians are registered and licensed with NY State. Our technicians participate in a continuing education program.
